Americans for Responsible Innovation

What Americans for Responsible Innovation does

Americans for Responsible Innovation (ARI) is a U.S. nonprofit focused on bipartisan policy advocacy and research on artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. ARI’s mission is to help U.S. policymakers build a governance framework for rapidly advancing technologies that protects the public from harm while continuing to foster innovation. ARI positions itself as independent of both industry and non-U.S. entities, and frames its work around cross-cutting governance goals (e.g., standards, assurance, and transparency for frontier AI) plus policy priorities spanning current harms, national security, American innovation, and emerging risks. ARI’s current strategic position is to translate its frontier governance blueprint into actionable legislative and administrative proposals, while expanding its advocacy footprint into state-level policy work.
