What Anduril does
Anduril Industries is a U.S. defense technology company that builds “software-defined” autonomous defense systems—combining AI-enabled sensing, mission autonomy, and command-and-control software (notably its Lattice platform) with purpose-built aircraft and unmanned systems hardware. The company’s core idea is to integrate many types of sensors and effectors into a common, extensible network so operators can supervise large numbers of autonomous systems and execute kill chains faster than legacy human-centric workflows.
Anduril sells capabilities across multiple mission areas and domains, including counter-drone / counter-UAS air defense, persistent autonomous surveillance, and autonomous air platforms and “launched effects.” Its software layer (Lattice) is designed to integrate third-party and legacy systems as well as Anduril’s own sensors/effectors. In parallel, Anduril invests in manufacturing scaling; for example, its “Arsenal” manufacturing platform and “Arsenal-1” facility are positioned as a hyperscale manufacturing approach for autonomous systems and weapons.
Strategically, Anduril is now a large, heavily venture-backed defense integrator with expanding government and allied contracts and an emphasis on interoperable software that can serve as the integration backbone for joint/coalition operations (e.g., NATO evaluations and enterprise tactical C2 selections).
