Blueprint Biosecurity

What Blueprint Biosecurity does

Blueprint Biosecurity is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on pathogen-agnostic interventions intended to reduce the risk and severity of future biological threats and pandemics. The organization’s stated vision is to enable society to “detect, prevent, and stop disease outbreaks before they become pandemics,” and it pursues this by combining (1) evidence generation for promising countermeasures, (2) development of implementation pathways, and (3) policy-relevant engagement with government, academia, industry, and philanthropy. Its current technical/programmatic portfolio is organized around personal protective equipment (PPE) and indoor transmission suppression approaches, including far-UVC, glycol vapors, and conventional germicidal ultraviolet (GUV). Blueprint also runs grant programs that fund research intended to answer safety, efficacy, and deployment questions for these interventions, and it publishes technical explainers and program updates through its “resources” and “news” sections.
