Brookings Center for Technology Innovation

What Brookings Center for Technology Innovation does

The Brookings Center for Technology Innovation (CTI) is a Brookings Institution policy and research center focused on how technology innovation—including artificial intelligence—interacts with governance, economic development, and regulation in the United States and globally. CTI’s stated mission emphasizes producing research that informs public debate and policymaking: identifying technology innovation developments and trends, developing and publicizing best practices for stakeholders, briefing policymakers on actions needed to improve innovation, and improving public and media understanding of technology innovation. CTI is housed within Brookings’s Governance Studies program and operates as a convening and publishing platform that includes TechTank (a Brookings blog) and the TechTank Podcast, as well as additional initiatives such as the AI Equity Lab and related AI governance convenings.
