What Browserbase does
Browserbase is a private company building browser infrastructure that lets “web agents” reliably browse and take actions on the internet through a developer-friendly API-first platform. Instead of asking agents to rely on brittle scraping or simplistic HTTP fetches, Browserbase provides real, production-grade headless Chromium sessions (“Browsers”), plus supporting primitives such as web search and page fetch APIs, agent identity to pass bot/anti-automation controls, and runtime/observability so agent executions can be deployed and debugged at scale. Browserbase also offers higher-level agent automation: Browserbase Agents are presented as a managed browser agent created from natural-language goals and run with a single API call, and “Director” is positioned as a tool that can generate and deploy Stagehand scripts.
