Centre for Long-Term Resilience

What Centre for Long-Term Resilience does

The Centre for Long-Term Resilience (CLTR) is an independent UK think tank incorporated as a non-profit company (Alpenglow Group Limited) that focuses on policy and governance for extreme risks—especially frontier AI risk, biosecurity, and cross-cutting risk management for government preparedness. CLTR’s stated mission is to transform global resilience to extreme risks, and its work is oriented toward providing governments and other institutions with concrete, actionable policy guidance and governance “next steps,” including through analysis, research outputs, and direct advising to senior policymakers. In its reporting, CLTR describes three core focus areas—AI risks, biological risks (biosecurity), and risk management—and emphasizes the intersection of AI and biosecurity (including governance recommendations intended to protect against AI-enabled biological threats).
