Centre for the Governance of AI

What Centre for the Governance of AI does

The Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) is a U.S.-based think tank (501(c)(3)) that aims to help decision-makers in government and industry navigate the transition to a world with advanced AI. It does this by (1) producing research and bespoke analysis (including work produced through direct engagement) and (2) running talent-development programmes intended to build AI-governance capacity for roles inside institutions. GovAI reports that its work spans threat modeling, risk management, economics of AI, frontier AI regulation, geopolitics/military applications, military and civilian AI adoption, technical governance, and frontier AI research, and that its outputs have been used or referenced in policy processes and by decision-makers in government, industry, and civil society.
