Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations

What Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations does

CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) is a global, non-profit vaccine-development coalition that finances and coordinates research and development of vaccines and other biologic countermeasures against epidemic and pandemic threats, with an explicit focus on equitable access. CEPI’s mission is to accelerate the development of vaccines and other biologic countermeasures so they are accessible to all people in need, and it advances this work by building and managing a networked R&D ecosystem across public-sector, private-sector, and academic partners. CEPI positions itself as a key actor in epidemic preparedness by catalysing vaccine innovation, supporting enabling science and manufacturing/process development, and promoting system-level readiness through the “100 Days Mission” (improving the speed at which candidate vaccines can move toward availability after a new threat is identified).
