What Composio does
Composio is a developer platform that helps AI agents take real actions in third-party business applications by providing an integration layer for tool discovery/execution, managed per-user authentication, and contextual execution environments. The platform exposes connectors (“toolkits”) for large numbers of SaaS apps and supports both model/agent-framework-agnostic tool calling and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) surface; it also includes productized agent runtimes like “Tool Router” and a command-line interface for connecting agent workflows to tools and auth.
Composio’s core workflow is: (1) connect an agent/application user to one or more external accounts through Composio’s auth layer; (2) let the agent select the right tools at runtime (including via MCP endpoints and a router experience); and (3) execute tool calls in a managed environment with observability and security controls. Composio positions its differentiation around eliminating bespoke integration and OAuth work, and around agent-ready primitives such as managed delegated auth, triggers (bidirectional eventing), and “context-aware sessions” so agents can maintain continuity during multi-step tasks.
The business is oriented to developers building agentic software (“Builders & Developers”), and also to teams deploying agent workflows in production. In addition to API/SDK access, Composio offers enterprise deployment controls (including SSO and governance) and a unified MCP gateway concept so that organizations can standardize access across agent applications. Composio has raised a total of $29M across a $4M seed and a $25M Series A led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, and it has continued shipping developer-facing releases through 2026 (e.g., Universal CLI, and continued SDK/router work).
