What Concordia AI does
Concordia AI is a social enterprise focused on global AI safety and governance, with offices in Beijing and Singapore. Its mission is to “steer AI development to harness transformative benefits while mitigating potential risks,” with a particular emphasis on making China’s AI safety and governance landscape legible to international stakeholders and supporting international cooperation on safety.
Operationally, Concordia AI combines (1) research intended to inform governance discussions (including China-focused “State of AI Safety” reporting and technical policy research), (2) convenings and community-building (seminars, forums, and fellowships), and (3) advisory and policy engagement (including standards participation and consultations).
A distinctive programmatic pillar is its Frontier AI Risk Monitoring Platform, which it describes as independently evaluating safety performance across multiple frontier models and publishing time-indexed “Risk Monitoring” updates and frameworks.
