Encode

What Encode does

Encode is a U.S. youth-led AI policy advocacy organization that works to shape laws and governance mechanisms for advanced AI systems, using coalition-building and public engagement to influence lawmakers at the state and federal levels. Encode describes its mission as advocating for AI governance that prevents AI-enabled catastrophes, keeps kids and families safe online, and prevents extreme power concentration, while arguing that policy should be built with a “dynamic view” of AI risks and benefits and informed by a wide expert “deep bench.”
