What Good Ventures does
Good Ventures is a U.S.-based philanthropic foundation whose mission is to help humanity thrive by accelerating progress, reducing suffering, and mitigating major risks to a flourishing world. The foundation says it chooses causes using three criteria—importance, neglectedness, and tractability—and it supports work spanning life-saving health programs, breakthrough scientific research, and economic opportunity. Good Ventures emphasizes grantmaking “in partnership” with specialized nonprofit advisers and organizations (notably Coefficient Giving and GiveWell) rather than building a large internal staff.
