What Intrinsic does
Intrinsic is an Alphabet-owned robotics software and AI company focused on “physical AI”—software that helps industrial robots perceive, plan, and execute tasks in real production environments. The company’s platform is designed for solution builders and manufacturers to develop, simulate, deploy, and update robotic applications with reduced reliance on point-by-point hand programming.
At the core of Intrinsic’s offering is Intrinsic Flowstate, a web-based developer environment used to create digital twins of robotic workcells, define robotic and sensor controls, and compose behavior trees/skills that can run in simulation or on physical robotic systems. Intrinsic also positions an “Intrinsic Intelligence” layer that includes AI-enabled capabilities (for example, perception-related tasks and motion/manipulation building blocks) designed to be combinable and reusable.
In strategic positioning, Intrinsic has expanded from being an Alphabet “Other Bet” into joining Google as a distinct group, with an emphasis on leveraging Gemini models and Google Cloud and working closely with Google DeepMind for physical AI R&D-to-deployment workflows. As part of that platform strategy, Intrinsic has pursued ecosystem integration work—particularly around ROS tooling and industrial robot manufacturer support—aimed at making its platform easier to adopt across heterogeneous factory hardware and software stacks.
