LASR Labs

What LASR Labs does

LASR Labs (London AI Safety Research Labs) is a technical AI-safety research programme that trains and funds small teams of engineers and scientists to produce publishable research on concrete, action-relevant AI threat models. The programme runs as a 13-week, full-time, in-person fellowship (with a “week 0” research prioritization phase) in London, where participants work alongside the London Initiative for Safe AI community and supervised by experienced AI-safety researchers to take projects from proposal through experiments to an academic-style paper plus an accompanying blog post. LASR Labs is operated within the Arcadia Impact ecosystem (Arcadia Impact is a registered charity in England and Wales) and is supported by grants from Coefficient Giving, positioning LASR Labs as both a talent pipeline into technical AI safety and a production mechanism for technical research artifacts (papers and preregisterable methods) aimed at reducing risks from advanced AI.
