What Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence does
The Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI) is an interdisciplinary research centre at the University of Cambridge (within the Institute for Technology and Humanity) studying the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on rigorous cross-disciplinary analysis of AI’s societal impacts over the near, mid and long term. CFI’s work is structured through research programmes and projects, spanning topics such as algorithmic transparency, the nature of intelligence, automated warfare, consciousness, social AI, discrimination and injustice, and implications for democracy, geopolitics and the natural environment.
