Profluent is a privately held AI-for-science company building foundation models for writing proteins—aiming to enable programmable biology for medicine, agriculture, and beyond. The company focuses on de novo protein design and gene editing, combining large-scale protein language models with an in-house experimental loop. Its platform is presented as “AI as an interpreter” for the “language of life,” and it is organized around foundation models for protein generation/encoding plus task- and modality-specific models.
