What Stack AI does
StackAI (operating as “StackAI by Asana” after the acquisition) is an enterprise AI workflow platform for building, testing, deploying, and governing custom AI agents and intelligent automations across business-critical systems. The platform is positioned for IT and enterprise teams that need agentic automation with security, auditability, and governance—supporting multi-tenant, VPC, and on-premise deployment postures, plus human-in-the-loop controls at decision points. StackAI’s core user workflow is to design “agentic workflows” visually (via a no-code canvas/workflow builder), connect the workflow to enterprise data sources and tools, choose or swap among LLMs, and then run and monitor agent executions with analytics and audit logs.
Strategically, StackAI’s product is an orchestration and governance layer for agentic work that spans multiple enterprise systems (for example CRM/ERP/ITSM/support and content/document systems). On May 28, 2026, Asana announced that it completed the acquisition of StackAI, and Asana described StackAI as extending cross-system execution for human-agent teams—pairing StackAI’s workflow execution with the context and coordination capabilities of Asana’s work platform and “AI Teammates.”
