What Talos Network does
Talos Network is a German nonprofit organization focused on building a European talent pipeline for AI governance and public policymaking. Its core strategy is to run structured, cohort-based development programmes that combine policy training, a Brussels policymaking summit, and (for select tracks) placements within AI governance organizations—then extend the impact through an alumni network. The organization frames its mission as supporting the safe deployment of advanced AI by fostering the next generation of AI policy leaders, with explicit attention to independence in programme design and to equipping policymakers with practical governance expertise.
Talos Network’s flagship programme is the Talos Fellowship, which prepares early-career European AI policy professionals through an AI Policy Fundamentals track, a week-long summit in Brussels, and further components that include placement and (for an incubation track) additional funding and support for fellows to launch initiatives. Talos also runs a Policy Leaders Programme intended for more experienced policy professionals, structured around a bootcamp, a Brussels summit, and (for a placement track) a long paid placement year at relevant organizations. Together, these programmes are designed to create both immediate capacity (training and placements) and longer-term field-building (alumni networks, ongoing touchpoints, and placement ecosystems).
