What Waabi does
Waabi is a private Physical AI company building end-to-end autonomous driving technology for trucking and expanding into robotaxis. Its platform centers on the “Waabi Driver,” a generative-AI-based, verifiable system that Waabi says can generalize across driving environments and across vehicle embodiments without requiring new real-world data, simulation data, or fine-tuning when deployed to a new platform. Waabi positions its technology as simulation-first: it pairs the Waabi Driver with “Waabi World,” which the company describes as a high-fidelity simulator for closed-loop development and safety validation, and it also markets “Mixed Reality Testing” as part of its approach to increasing safety and reducing reliance on extensive on-road testing.
Commercially, Waabi has focused first on autonomous trucking (including “direct-to-customer” highway and surface-street capabilities) and has partnerships with logistics and vehicle ecosystem players. In early 2025, Waabi announced a strategic partnership with Volvo Autonomous Solutions for joint development and deployment of autonomous transportation solutions. In parallel, Waabi introduced a robotaxi application of Physical AI and, in January 2026, announced a partnership with Uber tied to deploying robotaxis powered by the Waabi Driver exclusively on the Uber platform.
As of mid-September 2026, Waabi is emphasizing both technology generalization (including zero-shot transfer to new truck platforms with its partners) and commercial scaling claims on a Dallas–Houston corridor, alongside its latest large funding round (Series C) to accelerate development and commercialization across autonomous trucking and robotaxis.
