What World Labs does
World Labs is a spatial intelligence company building “frontier world models” intended to perceive, generate, reason about, and interact with 3D environments rather than only producing 2D outputs. The company’s first product is Marble, a multimodal generative 3D world model that can create spatially cohesive, persistent 3D worlds from inputs such as a single image, video, text, or coarse spatial layouts, and then supports interactive editing/expansion plus exports like Gaussian splats, meshes, and videos. World Labs also provides the World API, a public interface for generating explorable 3D worlds programmatically via its Marble world model, and it positions this capability as usable across application domains including gaming/immersive media, robotics/simulation, and architecture/design workflows.
Strategically, the company is moving from “creator tools” into a developer platform. Marble’s general availability (announced in November 2025) and the later World API launch (January 2026) indicate a product progression from a user-facing world generation experience to an API-first integration layer for downstream tools and interactive systems. In parallel, World Labs is expanding along the robotics/simulation direction: it announced the acquisition of SceniX in July 2026, describing the move as expanding the company’s ambition to bring spatial intelligence into physical robotics through perception, world generation, simulation, and a real-to-sim-to-real loop.
